How to register DPM Server with Recovery Services Vault?

I am with a brand new article describing the features of a Recovery Services vault, and how to register DPM Server with recovery Service vault.

Firstly, a Recovery Services vault is a storage entity in Azure that stores data, which is usually the copies of data, or configuration information for virtual machines (VMs), workloads, servers, or workstations. Recovery Services vaults can be used to house backup data for a number of Azure services like IaaS VMs (Linux or Windows) and Azure SQL databases. Recovery Services vaults support System Center DPM, Windows Server, Azure Backup Server, and more, making it very easy for us to organize our backup data while minimizing management overhead.

Recovery services vaults help us to manage the backup in the cloud. On recovery services vaults we can store the copy of data, configuration file for Virtual Machines.

Recovery service vaults provide us the capability of taking the DPM backup to the cloud, Windows Server Backup to the cloud.

To keep the backup safe and secure we can save the copy of the Virtual Machine or DPM backups in the cloud so that we can recover them from the cloud if our on-premise environment gets affected. Recovery services vaults are very safe, secure, reliable and fast from the backup point of view and security.

Here I am going to explain How to register DPM Server with recovery Service vault? To do this, we need to download the Recovery agent from the Microsoft Azure Portal, as shown below:

Once it’s downloaded, next install the agent on the DPM server and follow the following process.

We can limit the uploading speed according to our business hour so that internal traffic doesn’t get affected during business hour, and complete the setup

Next, we can see our DPM server is registered with Azure in the cloud with recovery services vault and we can manage the backup from DPM server to cloud.

That’s easy.
